The President's Honors Scholarship at Delta College - Important Updates!
In the Honors Program, we have discussed obstacles students may face when applying for the President's Honors Scholarship, and we have decided to make two changes in order to make it more accessible and manageable for a larger number of students:
#1 - While we would still like students to submit their SAT scores if they have them, SAT Scores and specifically a score of 1200 is recommended to apply for the scholarship. Any available SAT score will be seen as a useful guide, but it is no longer a requirement.
#2 - We are extending the submission deadline to Sunday, November 26th at midnight. This gives students an additional two and a half weeks to gather recommendation letters, write their application essays, etc.
We hope you will encourage your high-performing, ambitious, creative students to apply for the PHS. It is Delta's largest, most comprehensive, most prestigious scholarship. It covers tuition, fees, and books for two full years, and is accompanied by a dedicated support team of advisors, faculty, and staff to help them in their success. There's travel scholarship money, monthly progress check-ins, leadership opportunities, employment opportunities, volunteer/service/social activities, etc.
Michigan Council of Women in Technology Scholarship
MCWT is excited to announce we are now accepting scholarship applications for the 2024-25 school year! If you are a dedicated and driven individual with a penchant for innovation and a desire to make your mark in the world of computer science, we encourage you to apply.
Applicants must be Michigan residents and US citizens; identify as female; attend a Michigan community college, college, or university; maintain a 2.75 GPA; and be pursuing a computer science-related associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree.
DStreet Music Scholarship
Applicants should submit a written essay not to exceed 500 words expressing their interest and qualifications. Examples of musical accomplishments are also required.
Applicants must be Michigan residents and undergraduates currently enrolled or in the process of enrollment in an accredited college, university, recognized trade school, or school of music. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
There will be two DStreet Music Foundation Scholarships offered at $1000 each.

Nathan Weidner Foundation
Nathan Weidner Foundation at Delta College provides $4,000 annually and is renewable. Last year, they awarded 11 scholarships (both first and second year combined).
Students must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a current graduate of a Bay County high school or live in Bay County
- Full-time students. (Full-time is defined as 12 credits or more per semester)
- Must have a 2.0 grade point average in high school to receive the scholarship for the first year, and a 2.5 grade point average at Delta College to receive the scholarship for the second year.
- Preference for students who are not receiving a Pell Grant;
Note: Students will receive this scholarship first before other financial aid or other scholarships are used so that the scholarship recipients do not receive a balance check and the scholarship dollars are only used for tuition, fees, and books.
Students must apply to Delta College first and then will have a username/password to apply for the scholarship.

Bay County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship
Scholarship Criteria
The Bay County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship is intended to provide a means to reward personal excellence in athletics to high school seniors. Students involved in a Bay County high school athletic program may apply for this scholarship with a monetary value of $750.00.
Applicants receive consideration for this scholarship on the basis of:
1. 2.0 GPA or above;
2. Citizenship;
3. High School Athletic Performance
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY
1. Senior involved in Bay County high school athletics.
2. Senior letter winner
3. Senior that correctly completes the application.
4. The winner must attend, as our guest, the Hall of Fame Banquet in October.
5. The winner must attend a Bay County High School during their Senior Year.
6. Be a student of merit, high personal character, and good behavior patterns

McKinley Baty Memorial Scholarship
This is a one-time $350.00 cash scholarship offered to a Bay City Central Student. Please complete this form and submit it with your essay, transcript, and recommendation letter to Ms. Kim in the Student Service Office no later than March 1, 2024.
McAlear-Sawden PAWS Scholarship
Did you attend McAlear Sawden at any point during elementary school? If so, this scholarship may be for you.
The McAlear-Sawden PAWS Scholarship is intended to recognize students who have embodied McAlear-Sawden PAWS (Proud, Acting responsibly, Working together, being Safe) throughout and beyond their K-12 learning experiences.
· Letters of recommendation from one Bay City Public School staff member and one supervisor from your volunteer experience(s).
· Provide the year(s) that the student attended McAlear-Sawden Elementary.
· Graduating from Western High School, Central High School, or Eastern High School in the Bay City Public Schools.
· Minimum 3.0 GPA (must provide a copy of transcripts).
· Seniors who are planning to continue their education at a 2 year or 4 year college, or a career/technical school.
· Scholarships will be awarded within the qualifying school year.
· Complete the five (5) Written Responses and turn in to the principal at McAlear-Sawden Elementary.

Spherion’s Sandy Mazur Excellence in Leadership Scholarship
This is now a $3,000 award (in former years it was $2,500) to a student who meets the criteria and is especially dedicated to serving their community.

Michigan Achievement Scholarships
Students who graduate from high school in Michigan with a diploma or certificate of completion or achieved a high school equivalency certificate in 2023 or after may be eligible for more financial aid from the State of Michigan:

2024 Bay City Morning Rotary Scholarship
The Bay City Morning Rotary Club is funding eight (8) $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to the Bay County high school seniors initiating their secondary education in the fall of 2024 using the weighted criteria described in the student instructional letter. Six (6) recipients will receive $1,000 for pursuing their secondary education in the fall of 2024.
New to our program, (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students applying to trade schools, and apprenticeships for skilled trades.
