CHS: Benefits of Project Based Learning

In this video, we dive into the world of project-based learning, exploring how this innovative teaching approach is transforming the learning experience for students and teachers at Bay City Central High School.

With project-based learning, students work on real-world problems, research, design and implement solutions, and present their findings to their peers and teachers. This approach fosters deeper engagement and understanding of subjects, encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and empowers students to take control of their learning.

Through interviews with educators and students, we learn about the benefits of project-based learning in a range of subjects, including science, math, and health. We also see examples of how project-based learning can be tailored to meet the needs of individual students and classrooms.

CHS: POSITIVE CREW CULTURE

In fall 2023, teachers and leaders at Bay City Central High School School launched a school redesign starting with ninth graders that included a 30-minute advisory period called 'Crew.' Built on principles and practices shared between the New Tech Network and EL Education, students and staff meet regularly to connect as a community of learners. This video highlights student and staff voices to tell the story of Central's early success with Crew implementation.
